Dr. Ioannis Theodoropoulos was born in Athens in 1971. He was admitted in the School of Dentistry At the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1988, honored with a scholarship from the National Greek Scholarship Foundation(IKY). He completed his undergraduate studies in 1994, granted from Colgate Palmolive for graduating fifth in his class.
In 1995 he was admitted in the 3 year full time postgraduate program in Periodontics at the University of Athens. He graduated in 1998 with an MSc degree in Oral Biology and a Specialization Clinical Certificate in Periodontology. From 1999 to 2000 he worked as a general dentist and a periodontist during his military service. From 2000 to 2005 worked as a fellow dentist in a private dental clinic in Athens, practicing the whole spectrum of Dentistry, focusing in Periodontology and Implantology. In 2005 he began his private Dental practice in Kalamata in South Greece, focused exclusively in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Since 2018 the practice has expanded to involve other dental specialties, such as orthodontics and restorative dentistry with the cooperation of fellow colleagues, in order to offer wide range of dental services, as it is his strong belief that contemporary dentistry is team work. Dr Theodoropoulos special field of interest involve hard tissue regeneration and soft tissue augmentation in implant dentistry, esthetic demanding cases and the full mouth rehabilitation of the periodontaly compromised patient. Lately, from 2016 to present he has developed a special interest in digital Dentistry and Computer Guided Implant therapy. From February to May 2019 he attended the 1st Computer Guided Surgery 3D Certification Course at the Medical School at the University of Athens. Since then he has included digital planning in the daily practice for the whole of his cases, practicing guided surgery for the vast majority of them, intraoral scanning and prosthetic planning, as it is main goal to use digital innovation to reduce chairside time, patient morbidity and improve the total dental service provided. Dr Theodoropoulos has attended numerous scientific meetings in his specific fields of interest and he has been involved himself as a speaker to a number of meetings in implant dentistry. He is a regular member of the Hellenic Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and of the European Federation of Periodontology. |
